Nelo Tested is published by Nelo Automation, Maine, United States. By using this site you accept these terms. They are short because the site is simple: we publish buying guides and you read them.

What this site is

Independent, informational buying guides for home equipment. It is general information, not professional advice for your specific property. We do not know your water chemistry, your electrical service, your gas supply, your local code or your household's demand — and every one of those changes the right answer.

Safety and licensing. Much of the equipment covered here involves gas, high-voltage electrical work, potable water or combustion venting. This work is regulated, requires permits in most jurisdictions, and can cause fire, flood, carbon monoxide exposure, electrocution or death if done wrong. Nothing on this site is installation instructions. Have equipment specified and installed by a licensed professional, and follow your local code — it overrides anything you read here.

Accuracy, and its limits

We research carefully, cite specifications to the manufacturer with the date checked, and write "no data found" rather than guess. Even so:

Manufacturers revise models without renaming them.
Prices and warranty terms change without notice.
A figure correct on the date checked may not be correct today.

Always confirm current specifications on the manufacturer's own page before you buy — every pick links to it. If you find something wrong, tell us and we will correct it.

Recommendations are opinion

Our picks are our reasoned opinion, based on the method set out in How We Review. They are not a guarantee of performance, suitability or outcome, and reasonable people compare the same specifications and land somewhere else. Read the reasoning, not just the ranking.

Commercial relationships

We are not currently in any affiliate programme and earn nothing from the links on this site. If that changes, links will be labelled and the affiliate disclosure updated. No commercial relationship has ever determined a recommendation, and none will.

Links to other sites

We link to manufacturer pages for reference. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices.

Our content

The text, photography and layout here are ours and protected by copyright. Quote us with credit and a link. Do not republish whole guides, and do not use this content to train a model or to generate substitute pages without written permission.

Acceptable use

Use the site lawfully. Do not attempt to disrupt it, scrape it at a volume that degrades it for others, or gain unauthorised access to any part of it.
